A business on Front St. reported illegal dumping.  The business owner stated numerous household items were left on the property.

07-25-2026

Takier Hill, 26 of Plainfield NJ, was arrested by Off. DiFulco during a motor vehicle stop for an outstanding warrant out of the Union County Sheriff’s Office.  Hill was transported to HQ, processed and transported to Essex County Jail.

07-28-2026

A resident of Argyle Ct. reported a fraud.  The victim stated an unknown individual made unauthorized transactions on their credit card at Bass Pro Shops in excess of $1,700.

A resident of Front St. reported a fraud.  The victim stated they received a text notification regarding “suspected fraud attempted” on their credit card.  The victim received a phone call from an individual impersonating a representative of a financial institution.  The victim was advised to respond to their bank and an FDIC agent would retrieve them money from them there.  The victim handed the $6,000 to the individual and then became suspicious.

A resident of Union reported a theft from the vehicle.  The victim stated an unknown individual removed the front grill from their vehicle.  The grill was valued at $300.

A business on Terrill Rd. reported a theft.  An employee of the business stated a Black Chevrolet Malibu left without paying for $55 worth of gasoline.

08-03-2026

A business on E 2nd St. reported a burglary.  The manager stated an unknown individual entered through a rear door and accessed a safe stealing $400 in cash.

08-05-2026

A resident of Willow Ave. reported an attempted fraud.  The victim stated an unknown individual was able to access their laptop and attempted to withdraw $432,000 from the account.  The withdrawal was caught before the funds were withdrawn.
